Private Guided Mountain Bike Experience in Barcelona
This private Barcelona mountain bike tour takes you from the city into the trails of Collserola Natural Park — the main mountain biking area on Barcelona’s doorstep, reached on the bike with no shuttle, transfer, or added logistics.
Within a short ride of the city, the streets give way to forest roads, gravel tracks, and flowing single-track, with panoramic views over Barcelona and the Mediterranean.
Because the ride is fully private, the route is built around you — your fitness, your experience, and the terrain you enjoy — working equally well for a confident first-timer off-road and a strong rider wanting more technical sections. Rather than collecting a rental and a map, you ride with a dedicated guide on a bike matched to the day, with the rental cost stated up front. Pricing starts from around €97 per rider at three, from a company that has guided here for 23+ years and holds a 5.0 rating across more than 100 TripAdvisor reviews.
Mountain Bike Tour: Pricing & Booking Information
A private mountain bike, gravel, or e-MTB ride for individuals, couples, and small groups — never combined with strangers.
Bike rental and route are arranged in advance, matched to your riding level and the terrain you want, so the day runs smoothly from the first pedal stroke.
From €290 per group (up to 3 people)
- Additional person: €80 per person
- Maximum group size: 8 people
- Duration: approx. 4 hours
- E-MTB upgrade available

Tours run year-round, though availability is tighter on weekends and through peak season — earlier contact gives you more choice of dates.

Route Options by Rider Type
Because this is a private ride, the route can be adapted to match your experience level, fitness, and preferred terrain.
Beginner-Friendly Option
Ideal for riders with basic fitness who want to enjoy the natural side of Barcelona without highly technical terrain. These routes focus on wider forest tracks, manageable climbs, scenic viewpoints, and a comfortable pace.
Scenic Gravel or Mixed-Terrain Option
A good choice for riders who enjoy longer flowing routes, quiet gravel tracks, and a balance of scenery and physical effort. This option works well for gravel riders and for visitors looking for an active but not overly technical experience.
Stronger-Rider Option
For experienced cyclists, routes can include steeper climbs, faster descents, and more technical trail sections depending on trail conditions and rider preference. This is the option for riders who want a more challenging off-road experience near Barcelona — with the steeper and more technical sections Collserola has to offer.
Going Further: Beyond Collserola
Collserola covers most riders beautifully — but if you want a bigger day, there’s a lot more terrain within easy reach. On request, we run longer rides in the coastal hills north of the city — through natural parks like the Serralada Litoral and the Serralada de Marina, in the country behind Vilassar de Dalt and Masnou — where the trail network opens up for riders chasing more distance, more climbing, or simply a change of scenery. Almost all of it sits within about an hour of Barcelona, and there’s more than enough here to fill a full day.
These are a different kind of day: typically 4–6 hours of riding, with transport arranged to reach the trailhead. We usually program a lunch stop at a country masia restaurant in the park — optional, though most riders are glad of it after the morning’s effort. Lunch is arranged separately and paid directly to the restaurant, so the cost stays transparent and is never marked up through us.
These days suit small groups and riders who want a full adventure rather than a half-day from the city, and they’re quoted individually based on where you want to ride and how far.
Typical Route & Riding Experience
A typical day begins near the city centre or at a partner bike shop, where your bike is fitted and prepared before you set off. The route then climbs steadily out toward Collserola — and that ride out is part of the workout, not just a transfer:
The ride to the trailhead:
- About 45 minutes — fairly consistent, whatever the start point or bike
- Roughly 9–10 km
- Around 300 m of climbing
- About a quarter of the day’s distance — but over a third of its total climbing
The climb starts the moment you leave the city. Once you’re on the trails, what follows depends on the day and your goals, but a ride often includes:
- longer scenic climbs
- the occasional steep, sharp climb
- flowing gravel descents
- single-track sections
- viewpoints overlooking the city and out to the sea
Most rides settle into a rhythm of quiet forest, gradual climbs, and the descents that pay them back — all only minutes from the city you started in. As with all of our private Barcelona bike tours, the pace and the line are adapted to how you like to ride. Contact us to talk through the best option for your level and the bikes you’ll be on.
Mountain Bikes & Equipment
The right bike makes the day. Rather than handing you whatever’s on the rack, we match the bike to your ride and your size — gravel, hard-tail, or full-suspension, pedal or e-MTB — sourced through trusted local rental partners and set up properly before you roll.
Bike Options
- Premium gravel, hard-tail, and full-suspension mountain bikes, pedal or e-MTB
- Multiple frame sizes, fitted to your height and weight
- Professional setup and adjustment, including flat or clipless pedals
- Matched to the terrain you'll ride, not a one-size rack bike
Rental Cost (paid separately, no markup)
- Pedal bikes: approx. €50–80 per day
- E-MTB: approx. €90–110 per day
Approximate. Rental is a direct pass-through from our partners and varies by the specific bike, the season, and rental length — premium and full-suspension models sit toward the higher end. We confirm the exact cost before you book.
Deposit
A refundable security deposit is also required at pickup, along with a valid ID and credit card — standard practice, much like a car rental, and returned in full once the bike is back undamaged.
To confirm the right bike and check availability, we’ll ask for your height, weight, preferred bike type, and pedal preference. The earlier we have it, the better the match — good bikes in the right size book up, especially on weekends and in peak season.
You’re also welcome to bring your own bike. If you do, we’ll adapt the meeting point and route to suit.

Common Questions Before Booking
Do I need mountain biking experience?
No advanced experience needed. Routes adapt to your level, from relaxed gravel tracks to more technical single-track in Collserola — we adjust pace, climbing, and terrain to match where you're comfortable. If it's your first time off-road, your guide can give you tips and coaching along the way.
Is this a private mountain bike tour?
Yes — every tour is private to your group only, never combined with strangers. Your guide builds the route around your fitness, experience, and what you want from the day.
What type of bike is used?
You choose — gravel, hard-tail, or full-suspension mountain bikes, pedal or e-MTB, matched to your ride and your size through trusted local rental partners. Rental is arranged separately and paid directly, with no markup. Full details are in the Mountain Bikes & Equipment section above.
Where does the mountain bike tour start?
Most rides begin in Barcelona, with quick access to Collserola. Exact meeting details — city centre or a partner bike shop — are confirmed after booking, based on your route and whether you're on a rental or your own bike.
How difficult is the terrain?
It's as easy or as challenging as you want, within Collserola's terrain — from smooth gravel and forest tracks to steeper climbs and more technical single-track. We set the route to your level. For a bigger or more demanding day, see "Going Further: Beyond Collserola" above.
Is the tour suitable for beginners?
Yes. Many routes use wider gravel tracks and manageable climbs, and if you're comfortable on a bike, we'll design a ride that suits you. First time off-road? Your guide is there to coach you through it.
What is included in the tour?
Your private guide, route planning, local knowledge, on-request riding tips, and help selecting and coordinating your bike rental. Bike rental, kit, food, and insurance are arranged separately — the full list is in Included / Not Included above.
Can the route be customised?
Yes — that's the point of a private ride. We can favour scenic viewpoints, more technical trails, longer distance, or an easier pace, built around what you enjoy.
Can this tour be combined with other experiences?
Yes. The mountain bike tour pairs well with other private experiences in Barcelona or day trips outside the city — just ask and we'll build it into your plans.
Can we ride outside Collserola?
Yes. For riders who want a bigger day, we run longer rides in the coastal hills north of the city — the Serralada Litoral and Serralada de Marina. These are full-day outings of roughly 4–6 hours with transport arranged, quoted individually. See "Going Further: Beyond Collserola" above for how they work.
Thanks for two great days of riding — I really enjoyed it. Will be back. — Lars N., Singapore
