- E-bike makes the climb easy
- Small groups, up to twelve
- 23 years operating in Barcelona, founded 2003
Who this is For / Not For
This Is For
- Couples and families who want Barcelona's hilltop side, not another Gaudí loop
- Anyone 14 or older who's comfortable on a bicycle — the e-bike handles the climb
- Multi-generational groups, grandparents included
- Returning visitors ready for the Barcelona most travelers miss
- Small groups up to twelve who want the route shaped to them
- Cruise passengers with a port day — the start point is close, and we've never missed a ship
This Is Not For
- Riders not yet steady on a bicycle — pedal-assist helps you climb, not balance
- Children under 14 — the e-bike age minimum applies to every rider
- Travelers who need step-free or seated mobility support
- Anyone after a Gaudí-focused ride — our private city bike tour covers that
- Guests wanting a photographer along — we ride to great viewpoints, but you take the photos
What You'll See — Up the Hill & Along the Ridge
Most travelers never make it up Montjuïc. They do the Gaudí landmarks and the Old City, and the hill above the harbor stays a name on the map. It’s where a lot of our returning clients head first — the Olympic city, the castle, the gardens, and the widest views in Barcelona, all on one ride.
We start near the waterfront and let the e-bikes do the climbing. The route winds up past the old fortifications to Montjuïc Castle, with the harbor and the city opening up below as you go. From the castle you roll along the ridge — the Olympic ring, the stadium and the diving pools from the 1992 Games, then down past the Miró Foundation and the gardens.
The pace is yours. Your guide knows where the views are best and when each spot is quietest, and shapes the ride around what your group wants to see — more time at the castle, a longer stretch in the gardens, a stop wherever the light is good. Time it for late afternoon and the ride can end with the city turning gold below the viewpoints.
Popular Stops — & Wherever Else You Want to Go
The route is yours to shape. These are the stops our groups ask for most — but they’re a starting point, not the whole map. Pick the ones you want, add others, and tell your guide what matters to you on the day.
Montjuïc Castle
The 17th-century fortress at the top of the hill, with the widest views in Barcelona — harbor on one side, city on the other. Ride up to the walls, or add time to go inside and walk the ramparts.
The Olympic Ring
The stadium, the diving pools, and the Calatrava tower from the 1992 Games. We roll through the whole complex; stop for a walk-around if your group wants the closer look.
Miró Foundation
Joan Miró's museum, set in the gardens near the top. A natural pause point whether or not you go in — the building and the setting are worth the stop on their own.
The Gardens
Montjuïc is layered with them — the Botanical Gardens, the Laribal terraces, quiet green stretches most visitors never find. Easy to add a longer ride through if you want the slower, greener version of the hill.
Magic Fountain & Plaça d'Espanya
The grand approach below MNAC, with the fountain basin and the avenue framing it. Worth a stop for the setting alone. The famous water-and-light show runs after dark and isn't always on — ask us if seeing it matters to you, and we'll tell you honestly what to expect that week.
Time it for sunset
Late-afternoon rides end with the city turning gold below the viewpoints. We can add a drink stop at a terrace with the view, and shape the timing so you're at the best lookout as the light drops.

Common Questions Before Booking
What's the minimum age, and can children ride?
Riders must be 14 or older. The e-bike has an age minimum that applies to everyone, so younger children can't join this tour. From 14 up, anyone comfortable on a bicycle can ride — the pedal-assist handles the hill, not the balance. Helmets are included and worn by all riders.
Do we need to be fit to ride Montjuïc?
No. That's the whole point of the e-bike. The motor does the climbing, so the hill that puts most people off Montjuïc becomes an easy ride. If you can ride a bicycle on the flat, you can do this. We keep the pace relaxed and stop whenever you like.
Can we customize the route or add stops?
Yes — this is a private tour for your group only, and the route is yours to shape. Tell your guide what you want more or less of: time inside the Castle, a longer stretch through the gardens, a particular viewpoint. We plan it with you beforehand and adjust freely on the day.
Can we do this as a sunset ride?
Yes. A late-afternoon start can end with the city turning gold below the viewpoints, and we can add a drink stop at a terrace with the view. Tell us when you book and we'll time the ride around the light. Sunset slots are popular in summer, so ask early.
What if it rains?
We ride in light rain — Barcelona rarely has the kind that stops a tour. For heavier weather, once the bikes and guide are scheduled the costs are committed, so the tour is non-refundable. Your options are to ride through it, swap to a walking tour with your guide, or cancel without a refund. We'll always give you an honest read on the forecast.
Are entry tickets included? Can you arrange them?
Tickets to paid sites — Montjuïc Castle, the Miró Foundation, the gardens — aren't included in the tour price, but we're happy to arrange them for you and bill them separately. The same goes for Sagrada Família and Park Güell if you're booking other days with us. These sell out well ahead in summer, so the earlier you tell us, the better.
Can we go inside Montjuïc Castle?
Yes, if you'd like to. We can build time into the ride to go inside and walk the ramparts, where the views over the harbor and city are at their widest. Entry is ticketed and not included in the tour price, but we'll arrange it for you. Just let us know in advance so we plan the timing.
We're cruise passengers — does this work for a port day?
Yes. The start point is close to the port, and the half-day ride fits comfortably inside a port window. In 23+ years we've never had a guest miss their ship — we plan the timing around your sailing and keep a margin. Tell us your ship and port time when you book.
How early should we book in summer?
As early as you can. Summer is busy, sunset slots fill, and any tickets we arrange for you — especially Sagrada Família and Park Güell — sell out two to three weeks ahead. Booking early gives us the most room to shape the day around what you want.
Whose bikes are these, and is there a regular-bike option?
This is an e-bike tour only — there's no standard-bike version, because the pedal-assist is what makes Montjuïc rideable for everyone. We rent quality e-bikes from established Barcelona shops we've worked with for years, fitted to each rider on the day, with helmets included. You don't need to bring anything.
We are so happy that you were able to take us around and see Barcelona that we never would have imagined seeing. We all had a great time and really appreciate the time and effort that you put into the tour for us. We all are so thankful. — Dana, Stacie, Thatcher & Jon, New York City
