Rolling through the city…
A few months ago we kicked off a giveway for a free TBEX bike tour of Barcelona for any travel blogger heading to Catalonia for TBEX Costa Brava.
TBEX, as you may or may not know, is an acronym for Travel Blogger Exchange, a network of travel writers and bloggers that hosts yearly conferences. This past April they held their Europe conference north of Barcelona in the Costa Brava town of Lloret de Mar.
We selected our winners in mid-April: Emily Luxton from Emily Luxton Travels, Dalia Lourenço from Getting Close To (a fantastic video blog), Maria Stoyanova from Travelling Buzz (and her pal Krasimir – @dimkink) and Adrian from Adrian’s Travel Tales.
We had an amazing time with our fellow travel bloggers. Here are the pictures to prove it:
Gaston is going all out (yogaographer, as Maria said) to get a good perspective on our stop at a sculpture paying homage to Catalonia’s human-castle tradition.
We explored the Old City and waterfront. The weather was perfect: sunny skies and a light breeze … everything you’d want during a bike tour in the Mediterranean’s best city.
We stopped off for some gelato at Gelaaati Di Marco, an local favorite located near Plaza Sant Jaume. Emily Luxton snapped a quick photo of her ice creamy goodness:
Maria Stoyanova took this great photo of our stop at Parc de la Ciutadella, Barcelona’s largest green space within the city limits:
Krasimir snagged this shot of us taking a break at Barceloneta Beach. Gaston, Barcelona Experience’s founder, rarely ever makes it into photos. In this case, he couldn’t escape the camera’s curious stare:
Adrian summed up the trip quite well with this great video of the tour. We love the intro clip of our Dahon tour bicycle… just the right amount of bike glam!
Dalia Lourenço is a Barcelona resident. We enjoyed having a local roll with us. Check out her latest video on Barcelona:
We want to thank our five guests for making the tour a fabulous event. Everyone was easy-going, interested in the city and an absolute pleasure to host for a few hours.
