If you want good food, come to Catalonia.
That´s the opinion of TripAdvisor reviewers who rated Girona’s El Celler de Can Roca the best restaurant in the world and Barcelona’s ABaC as the 16th best restaurant in the world in a the TripAdvisor 2014 Travelers’ Choice Awards released this week.*
#1 – El Celler de Can Roca, Girona

Can Roca is no surprise here. The Girona restaurant run by the Roca brothers three is always in the ‘Best Restaurants in the World’ conversation. Of the 796 reviews the restaurant has received, 679 are ‘Excellent’, 60 are ‘Very Good’ and 57 are either ‘Average’, ‘Poor’, or ‘Terrible’. That’s an Excellence rating of 85%.
If you’re in Barcelona, you can take the train to Girona for a meal at Can Roca. If you’d rather stay in the city, you can enjoy Roca cuisine at the Michelin-starred Roca Moo in Hotel Omm.
#16 – ABaC Restaurant

ABaC is the work of chef Jordi Cruz. The Catalan wizard is our pick for Barcelona’s next three-star Michelin restaurant. His kitchen is one of the best in the Barcelona. Out of 426 reviews, ABaC received 314 ‘Excellent’ votes, 72 ‘Very Good’, and 50 ‘Average’, ‘Poor’, or ‘Terrible’. That’s an Excellence rating of 73%.
If you were to head to ABaC this evening for dinner, you could enjoy a tasting menu which includes foie-gras focaccia, squid with black rice, guinea fowl with foie gras and summer strudel.
